Memorial Day weekend approaching already? You’ve got two choices. Take off in a heated rush, brace yourself for travel expenses and soaring gas prices, and spend most of your weekend in the car on the way to an overcrowded vacation spot, or kick back with a cold brew, enjoy music by live bands, and get acquainted with Zoo Atlanta.
Brew Program
3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Check in at the main Brew table, get your tasting mug and get acquainted with Zoo Atlanta. Stop by the Ford Pavilion first and grab a signature SweetWater brew and then stroll the grounds to see all that the Zoo has to offer while sipping a brew! Enjoy signature microbrews including Road Trip, SweetWater’s special summer seasonal. (See? You can take a road trip.) Try award-winning West Coast-style creations from an Atlanta original as we open additional brew carts at locations throughout the Zoo. Hear live music on the Ford Pavilion main stage and also at two other venues on grounds. You'll hear great local bands playing everything from cool cover tunes to original acoustic material.
Say goodnight to your animal buddies by attending special viewings as some of our animals will be staying up a bit late just for you. Get the chance to see the gorillas receive a bed-time snack; say good-night to Mei Lan; get up-close and personal with some of our cool critters during special animal encounters; and more! Zoo Member advance tickets are $35; non-Member advance tickets, $40; $45 on day of event. Guests must be 21 and up to participate.
Summer Safari Day Camp
Weekly May 27-August 8, 2008
Children 4-13 years old enjoy a wild and wonderful time at Zoo Atlanta during our Summer Safari Day Camp program. One-week sessions are available from the last week of May through mid-August. Each week features a unique theme, complete with creative crafts, educational games & activities, animal encounters and much more! Campers receive a Zoo Atlanta Summer Safari T-shirt and name button.

Zoo Atlanta envisions a world in which humankind values, protects and preserves the diversity of species on Earth. On select evenings in 2008, key players in conservation and research bring you their latest experiences for informative, inspirational looks at efforts to protect species at the Zoo and around the world.
In this year’s Conservation Lecture Series, you’ll hear from conservationists fighting to save animals in exotic landscapes and learn about their work with Zoo Atlanta’s collection. Each evening promises new insight into the status of the world’s species and ecosystems and the ability humans have to affect change.
Conservation Lectures are FREE for Serengeti Members and above; $5 for all other Zoo Members; $7 for non-Members. Seating is limited! Please make your reservations at least one week in advance, or call 404.624.WILD for more information.
Sports Zoolebrity Day

Meet and greet some of your favorite sports stars from the NFL, NBA, WNBA and local universities. Athletes will be on hand for photo opportunities and autographs. FREE for Members and children under 3; FREE with general admission.
