At Birth
(September 6, 2006)
Cub weighs approximately 4 ounces (1/4 pound), is pink, barely covered in white hairs, has a proportionately long tail and vocalizes a lot!

September 25
12" long, 1.4 lbs.
First cub exam-
we determine it’s a girl!

     
One month old!
Friday, October 6
15.3 inches long, 2.91 pounds

36 days
Thursday, October 12
Third exam eyes partially open. She is 16 inches in length, from nose to tail and weighs 3.8 pounds.
 
     

72—76 days
(November 17-25)
eyes fully open

     
75 days
(November 20)
first baby teeth erupt
     
Cub is 100 days old! (December 15, 2006) Based on Chinese tradition for good luck, this is when the cub’s name will be announced.
     

3-4 months
(December-January) walking begins (by 4 months, cub can walk and climb), Mother stops using den.

     

4 months
(January 07)
Cub begins to manipulate bamboo and other solid foods. May ingest small amounts
.

     
5 months (February 07) Cub can run and climb tall objects
     
One year (September 07) Cub may weigh 50-60 pounds
     
13-14 months (October/ November 07) Feeds on bamboo, similar to an adult
     
17 months (February 08) Weaning process begins between Mei Lan and Lun Lun
